1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Murattil mobile application and the API at murattil.devsfort.com, operated by DevsFort (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By downloading, accessing, or using Murattil, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Murattil provides tools to help Muslims learn and memorise the Quran, including:
- Reading the Quran with translations and audio recitation
- Recitation practice with speech recognition feedback
- Verse recognition by voice
- Progress tracking, goals, reminders, and cloud sync
- Offline content downloads
Murattil is an educational companion app. It is not a substitute for qualified Islamic scholarship, a fatwa service, or formal tajweed instruction. Always verify important religious matters with knowledgeable scholars.
3. Accounts
You may use some features without an account. To enable cloud sync, you must sign in with Google or Apple via Firebase Authentication.
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your device and sign-in credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Providing accurate information associated with your account
You may delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. Deletion permanently removes your synced data from our servers.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Murattil for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, API, or other users’ accounts
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service or its APIs
- Upload malicious content or interfere with the operation of the service
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute Quran content obtained through Murattil except as permitted by the underlying content licences
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.
5. Quran content
Quran text, translations, audio, and search data are provided through licensed sources including Quran Foundation and other content providers. Your use of this content is subject to the terms of those providers in addition to these Terms.
We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee that translations, transliterations, audio, or recognition results are error-free. Report issues to haseeb@devsfort.com.
6. Fees
Murattil is currently offered free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features in the future. If we do, we will provide clear notice before any charges apply.
7. Intellectual property
The Murattil app, its design, code, and branding are owned by DevsFort. Quran text and related religious content remain the property of their respective rights holders and licensors.
You retain ownership of your personal study data. By using cloud sync, you grant us a limited licence to store and process that data solely to provide the service to you.
8. Disclaimer
Murattil is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors. Speech recognition and verse matching may produce incorrect results.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DevsFort shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Murattil.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or AUD $50 if you have not paid anything.
10. Termination
You may stop using Murattil at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, your right to use Murattil ends, but sections that by their nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits) will remain in effect.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
